Daniel’s father, Mark Barden Sandy Hook Promise Prevention
I keep hearing Sunday’s devastating tragedy in Las Vegas called “the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history” – but those murdered and injured aren’t just numbers or statistics in this epidemic. Like my sweet little Daniel, they are real people who laughed with their families, loved music and deserved to feel safe.
As I read the stories about their lives, I am overwhelmed with pain and sorrow for their families and loved ones. But support and compassion just aren’t enough. Inaction leads to more death, with more families and communities destroyed. It’s up to all of us to honor the lives we’ve lost by doing something right now to prevent gun violence.
That’s why I’m hoping you will donate ahead of Friday’s deadline so we have enough resources to push hard for gun safety reforms and expand our gun violence prevention programs to prevent future tragedies. We’re still $59,279 short of our goal – and if supporters like you don’t step up immediately, I’m afraid we’re going to fall short.
For my little Daniel, for all the lives we’ve lost and for the lives we can still save – thank you. It means so much to see you taking action.
Mark Barden (Daniel’s father)
