Newtown, CT: 2.16.2018 by Mark Barden sandy Hook Promise.

Friend, words aren’t enough. It’s not enough to just say we can’t let another tragedy like the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, happen again.

We have to act. We have to push Congress and states to finally do something to prevent future tragedies.

That’s why I’ve dedicated my life now to traveling across the country to visit legislators and share my sweet little Daniel’s story – so they know the price of inaction is precious lives like my boy’s and the 17 people who were murdered this week.

And that’s why we’re doing everything we can to ramp up our efforts and fight hard for gun safety reforms like extreme risk protection orders, which keep guns away from people who’ve shown warning signs of gun violence – like the shooter who murdered those 17 people.

I don’t want any other parent in my shoes, wondering what must have been going through their child’s mind during those last few moments before they were shot to death for no other reason than having shown up for school that day. That’s why I’m so thankful to you for honoring Daniel and all the precious lives killed by gun violence by taking action today.
